When using MS-SQL Server or Oracle RDBMS as a back-end for the EDM Server, it may happen that the connection between the EDM Server and the database server is lost. This can happen for example when the network cable has been disconnected, or when the SQL or Oracle service has been restarted. Typical error messages that may appear in these cases are “[DBNETLIB][ConnectionWrite (WrapperWrite()).]General network error.” when using MS-SQL and “ORA-12571: TNS:packet writer failure.” when using Oracle. The solution to these problems is to restart the EDM Server service in the Control Panel.
