New in IC2007: Reference management for Microsoft Office

InnoCielo now manages references between Microsoft Office documents. A new add-in that supports Office versions 2003 and 2007 will keep track of documents and images referenced from within Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. Whenever the master document is saved the references will be updated. When the document is re-opened later the references will be used to resolved the linked documents even if they have moved to another folder in the vault. Note that only references will be created for documents that are linked, while the default in Office applications when inserting external files is embedding.

In the case of Excel the references will also be managed if a cell formula references another workbook, for example:

=VLOOKUP(B15,'C:\InnoCielo Workspace\...\[FILE1.xls]Sheet1'!$B$5:$D$29,3,FALSE)
