New in AM2005a: Limiting Client Usage

It is now possible to limit the load on the EDM Server that is caused by the PowerUser and OfficeClient, by defining a maximum number of instances for each workstation, and a period of inactivity after which the server connections are closed. These settings need to be set in each workstation's registry. By default the number of instances and time-out are not limited.

  Defines the maximum number of PowerUser instances that can be open simultaneously.

  DWORD OfficeClient_MaxInstances
  Defines the maximum number of OfficeClient instances that can be open simultaneously.

  DWORD MinutesToSleep
  Defines the number of minutes of inactivity after which a PowerUser or OfficeClient will automatically close the connections to the EDM server.
