There is an option in
the 'user
preferences' of the WebAccess client to generate thumbnails on document
import or check-in. The thumbnail generation is executed on the Web Access
server, which may lead to performance and/or stability problems. In order
to prevent thumbnail generation by the WebAccess server, in AutoManager
2005 a registry key was introduced to disable this feature. In AutoManager
2006 this setting has been extended:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cyco\AutoManager Meridian\CurrentVersion\WebLink
REG_DWORD DisableThumbnailUpdate
0 (default) - Web Access will only extract thumbnails existing in the
documents;
1 - No attempt will be made to generate thumbnail. With this value
the thumbnail generation setting in the 'user preferences' will be ignored.
2 - If possible Web Access will create thumbnails extracting preview
images existing in the documents, otherwise it will launch an invisible
viewer and render them. Bug 20141:
"Thumbnails can be created in WebAccess using full viewer"
