Improved Oracle Backup

Patrick: Please don't document this until all bug's are fixed.

Using the Oracle database driver for AutoManager Meridian it was troublesome to set up a reliable procedure that would result in a complete backup of the running AM-Meridian environment. AutoManager 2006 now offers a new way to create a backup of a vault stored in Oracle. To enable the new way set the following registry value:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cyco\AutoManager Meridian\CurrentVersion\Installed DataStores\<vault name>\CompoundItemService]

REG_DWORD UseCompatibleBackup = 0

The default value for this dword is 1, which causes the driver to use the existing way of creating backups.

Other improvements

• When a connection to the license server was lost it was not restored automatically, and the message "No license available" was shown to the user. In this case the vault had to be reopened in PowerUser. This is now fixed, and if the license server is available again, the connection will automatically be restored. 21790 "No License available"  
• After restarting the EDM Server the Performance Counters for the EDM Server and Hypertrieve may become unavailable in Performance Monitor. This is now fixed.Bug 19321: "Performance monitor counters do not come back after an EDM Server restart", RefNum Jv041125105655
   
• While importing a Hypertrieve-based vault into a new Oracle-based vault it would be possible to import a Configuration template (.MET file) at the same time. • The performance of search operations has been significantly improved.
