Storing the Streams on another server
It is possible to locate the InnoCielo streams folder, on another machine
than the EDM Server is running on. At this moment this has been verified
to work with Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003 and Novell NetWare 3.2
only. Other platforms, such as SAMBA based shares, were not tested and
may or may not work, depending on the configuration possibilities.
To be able to achieve this, a number of conditions have to be met:
- The EDM Server must run under a different account
than the default Local System account. The account used should have full
access to the location where the streams are to be stored.
- A high-bandwidth, low-latency connection between
the EDM Server and the Streams server, 100Mbit/s but preferably faster.
Because the network traffic between the EDM Server and the Streams server
is high volume, a dedicated connection is a must.
- If the streams are stored on a Novell NetWare
server use of the Gateway Service for NetWare on the EDM Server machine
is required. This means the EDM Server must be running on Windows Server.
Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP Professional are not supported.
