Windows XP Service Pack 2 and unsigned extensions

With Service Pack 2 of Windows XP Microsoft has changed the default security settings for Internet Explorer so that executable files would no longer be downloaded from the internet. Because TeamWork uses the Internet Explorer mechanism to download extensions from the server, this change also impacts TeamWork installations. There are a number of ways to resolve this issue:

• Relax the Download unsigned ActiveX controls setting in the Internet security zone. This method is not preferred.
  
• Add the TeamWork server(s) to the Trusted sites security zone.
  
• Obtain a Code Signing Digital ID from Verisign to digitally sign your own extensions.
