Compatibility With Existing User Interface Extensions

One of the starting points for any release of InnoCielo Meridian Enterprise is to maintain compatibility of existing customization. Also for the 2007 release most existing customization can be (re) used without being recompiled.

One known exception is caused by an optimization in use of Part References.

Documents with parts

When submitting (or releasing) a document, InnoCielo will automatically submit any parts that are referenced by this document. Before AutoManager Meridian 2003 this functionality was implemented by the EDM server methods:

• IAMVersionable2.EndDraftVersionEx
• IAMVersionable3.EndDraftVersionExWithComment
• IAMDocumentWorkFlow.ReleaseDocument

These methods have been replaced by

• IAMVersionable4.EndDocumentDraftVersion
• IAMDocumentWorkFlow3.SetStateToReleased

Any customization that calls these methods directly should be adjusted. You can replace the method calls by one of the new server methods.

Note    The new server methods will not check for part references. Please contact our support department if your customization code requires this functionality. Sample code will be made available to demonstrate how the client libraries can be used to implement this.
