Opening a linked object in Maximo

Working with objects from within PowerUser is convenient, but limited. The limitations are intentional due to:

• The modest needs of engineering users
• The typically restricted access to maintenance data by engineering users
• To make the Asset Management Module easy to use

Much more data and functionality for objects is available in the maintenance management system.

Note    The following procedure is only available if the Asset Management Module is integrated with Maximo versions prior to 6.

To open a linked object in Maximo:

1. View the Objects page that shows the object that you want to open in Maximo as described in Viewing linked objects.
2. Select the row of the object that you want to view in Maximo. The command buttons become enabled.
3. Click Open in Maximo. Maximo opens with the selected object visible.
