Attaching a new revision to a document

Attaching a new revision of a document uploads a copy of a document that you select to the Meridian Enterprise vault and links it to the current asset as the current revision.

Note    The Attach a new document in IC-Meridian icon that appears in the upper-right corner of the Linked Documents page is visually identical to, but different from, the Attach a new version in IC-Meridian icon that appears on the Document property page for each document. Be sure to click the correct icon, depending on the action that you want to perform.

To attach a new revision of an existing linked document:

1. On the Linked Documents page, view the document to which you want to attach a new revision. The document’s Document property page appears and the current revision of the document is shown in the viewer window.
2. Click the Attach a new version in IC-Meridian icon to the right of the document’s thumbnail image. The Attach document in BC-Meridian page appears and warns you that the document will replace the current version of the selected document.
3. Click Browse and select the document that you want to attach as the new revision. The document’s path appears in the text box.
4. Click Attach. The selected document is uploaded to the Meridian Enterprise vault to a location configured by a system administrator. The new version will then appear on the Linked Documents page or will appear when the new version is approved in Meridian Enterprise.
