Configuration overview
Configuring the Meridian Transmittal Management Module generally involves one-time setup of the following items so that they can be used by end users for managing transmittals:
- The module components and licenses
- A transmittal database in an existing SQL Server or Oracle database management system
- One or more transmittal or submittal document types
- One or more templates for each transmittal or submittal document type
- One or more transmittal file format definitions
- One or more transmittal sheet report definitions
- Custom properties, Navigation views, workflow definitions, VBScript event handlers, and transmittal database reports, to customize the behavior of the Meridian Transmittal Management Moduleto meet your specific requirements.
The setup for some of these items is performed in the Meridian Enterprise Configurator. The setup of the remaining items is performed in the database management system that hosts the transmittal database. The quantity and characteristics of each of these items depend on your organization’s business processes and specific requirements. Each item is described in the remainder of this guide.
