Updating the transmittal database

The transmittal database stores information about:

• Transmittals and submittals in a vault
• Transmittal and submittal recipients
• The documents contained within transmittals and submittals
• The vault documents from which the transmissions were copied

This information is automatically updated whenever the documents, properties, or recipients of a transmittal are changed. This database can be used to track and report about transmittals using standard reporting applications. There might be situations when you need to update the transmittal database to ensure that it contains the correct data. One such situation is if you edit the properties of a transmittal but do not close the Transmittal dialog.

To update the transmittal database for an existing transmittal:

1. Select the transmittal in the vault for which you want to update the transmittal database.
2. Click Document, point to Transmittal Management, and then click View Transmittal. The Transmittal dialog box appears.
3. Click the Update Transmittal Database button in the toolbar. The Update TM-DataBase for BriefCase dialog shows the progress until the update completes.
