Setting the status of submissions

After you have linked submissions to transmissions as described in "Linking submissions to transmissions," and as you continue to process submissions, you can update the Status property of each submission for tracking purposes. You may set the Status property to a value that you select from a list of standard values.

Note    Setting the Status property is optional. If your organization decides to not use the Status property for tracking submissions, then you do not need to perform this procedure. But if you decide to use the Status property, before you can set the property, the lookup list must be created and assigned to the correct property by a system administrator.

Before you begin

The submittal that contains the submission for which you want to set the Status property must in an editable state in a workflow. If necessary, initiate a workflow for the submittal before proceeding..

To set the status of a submission:

From a document updated by the submission

1. Select the document to which a transmission has been linked to the submission that you want to update.
2. On the Submissions page, select the submission for which you want to update the Status property.
3. Click the Set Status button on the toolbar and select a value from the list that appears. The Status property is updated.

Or

From a submittal that contains the submission

1. Select the submittal that contains the submission that you want to update.
2. Click Document, point to Transmittal Management, and then click View Submittal. The Submittal dialog box appears.
3. Select the submission for which you want to update the Status property.
4. Click the Document Properties in Vault button on the toolbar. The Properties dialog for the document to which the submission is linked appears.
5. Click the Submission tab. The Submissions page appears.
6. Select the submission that you want to update.
7. Click the Set Status button on the toolbar and select a value from the list that appears. The Status property is updated.
