Synchronizing properties

Revit property data can be synchronized between a file and its property pages in the vault, for example, when the drawing’s title has changed. This is useful for several purposes:

• Filling in some or all of a title block
• Adding data to the TeamWork properties when text is typed in empty properties
• Keeping the title block and its TeamWork properties properly synchronized when changes to either are made

Due to limitations in Revit, synchronizing properties is not automatic.

To manually update a drawing’s TeamWork property pages:

• In the BlueCielo group of the Add-Ins menu in Revit, select Properties from File.

Or

• On the Document menu in TeamWork, select Synchronize Properties from File.

To manually update a drawing’s properties from its TeamWork property pages, such as when the drawing’s revision number has changed:

• In the BlueCielo group of the Add-Ins menu in Revit, select Properties to File.

Or

• On the Document menu in TeamWork, select Synchronize Properties to File.

Note    A system administrator may configure some TeamWork properties as read-only or write-only so that data exchange only occurs in one direction. For example, the revision number in a file may only be able to be updated from TeamWork, but not to TeamWork.
