Configuring the location of document copies

By default, when TeamWork creates a copy of a document, the copy is placed in the folder that is current at the time that the copy is made. TeamWork then moves the document, if necessary, to its destination folder that is specified by either the Field-Path definition or the user’s selected destination. If customized event procedures attempt to move the document to a custom destination, folder locking errors can occur if more than one custom event procedure is active at the same time. You can work around this problem by configuring the default location of document copies to not use the current folder.

To configure the default location of document copies:

  1. In Configurator, expand Environment in the configuration tree and select Application Link Settings. The settings for each application link appear in property pages in the right pane.
  2. Click the Application Integration tab. The Application Integration settings page appears in the right pane.
  3. Click the Edit button to modify the settings.

Tip    To export the settings file to your computer, click the Export button. This can be useful if you would rather edit the file in your favorite text editor. You can then copy your changes to the Clipboard and paste them into Configurator.

  1. Locate the section of the file titled [Vault] and locate the CreateProjectCopyInSelectedFolder setting. The setting is cleared by default.
  2. To change the default behavior, enable the setting by removing the semicolon (;) character from the beginning of the line. This sets the value of the setting to N (No) and activates it.
  3. Click OK to save your changes. The setting becomes effective the next time that the client applications are started or open the vault.
