Documents that are stored in the vault can cross scope boundaries during their lifecycle.

The following table lists the source and destination scope transitions that can occur during the life cycle of documents.

Document type flows
Source	Destination	Reason
Any	Archive	A document is obsolete.
Archive	Any	A previously archived document has been restored
Projects	Archive	A project copy of an asset document has been released. The project copy is automatically archived as part of this operation. (Optional)
Projects	Masters	A document is released as a new or updated revision of a Master asset document
Masters	Projects	A project copy is created of a master asset document
Projects	Miscellaneous	A project document has been reassigned as a non-project specific generic document. Possible via change document type.
Miscellaneous	Projects	A miscellaneous document has been reassigned as a project document. Possible via change document type.
