Understanding the hardware requirements

The hardware requirements for the Publisher are dependent on the amount of rendering that takes place. We recommend a dedicated processor with dedicated processor time for the best results. It is important that the rendering server conforms at least to the minimum hardware requirements of the applications that are used to render the documents.

The software used by the rendering modules or system links on the Publisher computer may interfere with Dex.exe. Therefore, for high-volume use, we recommend a dedicated computer for Dex.exe so that the applications that are invoked by the rendering modules and system links do not execute while a publishing job is active.
