Logging on and logging off

To log onto Project Portal:

1. Open a supported web browser window.

2. In the address box, type the URL to your organization's Project Portal installation and press Enter. If your Project Portal system is configured to accept Microsoft account credentials and you are authorized to use at least one workspace, you do not have to enter your credentials and the workspace list appears. If your system is not configured to accept Microsoft account credentials, the Project Portal logon page appears.

   Note    If you do not know the exact URL,  contact your Project Portal system administrator. The address starts with https:// if a secure connection is used or http:// if not.

3. Type your user name and password, and click Login. If you are authorized to use at least one workspace, the workspace list appears. If you are not authorized or have mistyped your user name or password, an error message appears.

   If you have forgotten your password, click Forgot your password to receive a link by email where you can reset your password.

   Note    

   • Project Portal user names and passwords are case-sensitive. For example, for the user name anny, neither Anny nor ANNY is valid.
   • By default, each session will expire after 60 minutes of idle time and you must log on to the system again.
   • Your system administrator might have configured your password to expire, in which case you will be prompted to reset your password as described in Changing personal properties.
   • Your Project Portal system might be configured to accept your network logon credentials.

   Tip    We recommend that you change your password the first time that you use Project Portal as described in Changing personal properties.

To log off from Project Portal:

• Click the arrow next to your name in the upper right corner of the page and on the menu that appears, click Logout. You may also close the browser window. We recommended that you close the web browser window whenever you are finished using Project Portal.
