Deleting files and URLs

Deleting files and URLs from a document removes the attachments and links but does not remove the document itself.

Before you begin

To perform this task, you must be the owner of the document or a member of an access group that has been assigned an access profile with the Delete permission for files.

To delete files or URLs from a document:

  1. In the navigation pane, select the parent folder of the document for which you want to delete files or URLs.
  2. In the Documents view, select the document for which you want to delete files or URLs.
  3. In the ribbon, in the Files group, click Remove. A page appears that lists the files and URLs that are attached to the document.
  4. In the Files list, select the files and URLs that you want to delete and click Delete files/URLs. A confirmation page appears that lists your selections.
  5. Click Yes, delete files/URLs. The parent document's property page reappears with the selected files and URLs deleted.
