Configuring user interface settings

You can specify the colors and other options that are shown for different parts of the Project Portal user interface.

To configure user interface settings:

Click your name in the tab strip. On the shortcut menu that appears, click Settings. The configuration tree appears in the left pane.
In the configuration tree, expand the installation name to configure settings for the entire installation or expand a workspace name to configure the settings only for the workspace.
Expand your user name, and select User interface. A page showing your active configuration options appears.
Click or type options using the descriptions in the following tables. To change a color, click the color selector icon and select a color swatch, or type a hexadecimal character color code in the appropriate text box. The default user interface color is black.
Click Save user interface. Your changes are applied and the Revert to the default user interface button appears. You can revert to settings specified at the installation level or that the workspace administrator has specified for the workspace by clicking the button.

Localization options
Option	Description
Locale	If this option is supported by your installation, you can select a different language to be displayed by Project Portal.
Timezone	The time zone in which you reside.
Short date format	How dates are shown, excluding the time. For information about the parameters used, see Date and time format parameters.
Long date format	How dates are shown, including the time. For information about the parameters used, see Date and time format parameters.

Toolbar and functionality options
Option	Description
Hide folder description in document list	Hides the Description folder property described in Viewing and editing folder properties.
Open urls in new window	If this option is selected, URLs will open in a new browser window. If this option is not selected, they will open in the document list pane. Note The configuration of your web browser can also have an effect.
Open files in new window	If this option is selected, files will open in a new browser window. If this option is not selected, they will open in the document list pane. Note The configuration of your web browser can also have an effect.
Template set for use	The Project Portal XML template set currently in use.

Primary Colors options
Option	Description
Link color	Workspace, folder, document, and file link text.
Primary color	pane borders.
Secondary color	Section headers.
Option	Description
Page background picture	An image to show in the background of all pages.
Page background color	The color to show in the background of all pages.
Title background	The background for documents in the default document list and field names.
Value background	The background for files in the default document list and field values.
Header background	The background for the top pane, table headers, and property page sections.
Folder color	The secondary color of the top pane and the folder header background.
Document color	The background of the document summary field.
View only documents of specified status	Filters the Documents list on the selected status.
View only documents of specified type	Filters the Documents list on the selected type.
View only documents of specified relevance	Filters the Documents list on the selected relevance.
View only document versions	Filters the Documents list on the selected versions.
Sorting order	Sort order of the Documents list based on the value selected for Sort view on attribute.
Sort view on attribute	The property upon which to sort documents in the Documents list.
Search scope	The default scope upon which to limit searches.
Default listing format	The listing format of the Documents list.
Keyword search scope	The default scope upon which to limit keyword searches.
Keyword search status filter	The status value in which to limit keyword searches.
