Installing the Advanced File Management client software

The Advanced File Management client software must be installed on the computers of users who will be viewing, checking out, or checking in CAD drawings with external reference files. The Advanced File Management client setup program is provided to Project Portal customers upon request.

Note    The Advanced File Management server software requires a compatible version of the client software on the client computers. The client software checks the server for the minimum required version of the client software and refuses to run if the version is less than required. The minimum required version is contained in the variable $Oph_file_checkout_referenced::reqver in the file conf.txt.

Note    The version of the setup program can be identified by its name. For example, Advanced File Management Client 2.0.1.exe installs version 2.0.1 of the software.

To install the Advanced File Management client software:

Before you begin

In Control Panel, use Programs and Features to uninstall any previously installed version of the Advanced File Management client software.

1. Log on to the computer with local administrator rights.
2. Copy the setup program to a temporary location on the computer.
3. Start the setup program. The Customer Information page appears.
4. Click options or type values using the descriptions in the following table.

5. Click Next. A confirmation page appears.
6. Click Install. The installation begins.

The setup program installs the following files on the computer:

cadref.exe

cadref.ico

debuglog.txt  

cadref.exe -v %1

C:\Windows

cadref.ini

The setup program also registers a file type association in Windows for the Advanced File Management archive files (*.krd). The Open action for the file type is specified as:

"C:\Program Files\Project Portal Oy\CADRef\Client\cadref.exe" %1
