Linking items

To link one document or folder to another document or folder:

  1. Add to the Clipboard the child items that you want to link as described in Adding items to the Clipboard.
  2. To link the Clipboard items to a folder:
  1. In the navigation pane, select the parent folder where you want to link the items.
  2. In the ribbon, in the Clipboard group, click Paste Link. The navigation pane and detail pane refresh to show the linked items.

To link the Clipboard items to a document:

  1. View the property page of the parent document as described in Viewing and editing document properties.
  2. In the ribbon, in the Clipboard group, click Paste Link. The property page refreshes to show the linked items.

To link to a document from outside Project Portal:

  1. View the property page of the document that you want to link to as described in Viewing and editing document properties.
  2. In the Links section, copy one of the URLs that are shown in Short URLs to document to the Clipboard.
  3. Paste the URL into the application outside Project Portal where you want the link to appear. When the link is clicked, it will show the property page of the linked document in a new Project Portal session.
