Working with documents in Application Integration

Application Integration is the name for the lightweight ProjectForce client application that you can use from within almost every Windows application to work with documents stored in ProjectForce libraries.

Application Integration is designed primarily to help you find documents in ProjectForce libraries, check them out, and open them for editing in Windows applications. It also designed to help you to check in checked-out documents and to add new documents to ProjectForce libraries. These actions are the same as those in the ProjectForce client. Application Integration uses the Windows application's Open and Save As commands to perform these actions, which are described in the following topics.

When Application Integration is installed on your computer and you select any commands that use standard Windows file dialogs such as Open or Save As, you will see one of two dialogs depending on the configuration of Application Integration. Which dialog you see is configurable to meet your preference:

  1. By default, the Application Integration dialog, similar to the following figure.
  2. A standard Windows file dialog box may appear with the ProjectForcelibrary button in the toolbar. If you click the button, the Application Integration dialog box appears, similar to the following figure.

The following table lists the major features of the Application Integration dialog and descriptions of each part, keyed to the numbers in the figure.
