Viewing and editing properties with the Properties dialog

Each document has many properties. A system administrator determines which properties are used by each document by assigning the property to a document class. The document’s class determines which properties are used. ProjectForce controls some of the properties, while other properties are for your use. Properties can only be changed by persons who have sufficient security privileges to modify the document.

To view and edit the properties of one or more documents:

1. Select one or more documents in the document list pane for which you want to view properties.
2. Right-click your selection and choose Properties. If you selected only one document, its Properties dialog box appears with tabs for all property categories similar to the following figure. If you selected multiple documents, only the Properties and Security tabs are visible, which the documents have in common.

3. To change a property, edit its text in the Value column and press Type. Note that some properties are read-only and may not be edited.
4. Click OK to save your changes. If you selected multiple documents, a progress dialog box appears until all of the changes are saved and then an Action Results dialog box appears to report the status of the action on each document similar to the following figure.

5. Click Close.
