Inserting an external reference from ProjectForce

The process for inserting or attaching a block, part, external reference, or raster image from a library into a drawing is the same regardless of the CAD application that is used.

Note    Inserting parts and assemblies into drawings in Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks is not supported.

To insert or attach an external reference from an ProjectForce library in a CAD application:

  1. In one of the following:

Click Insert . The corresponding AutoCAD dialog box appears. The ProjectForce Open File dialog box appears, similar to the following figure.

  1. Navigate to the folder in the library that contains the block, external reference, or raster image that you want to insert.
  2. Select the drawing and click Open. The ProjectForce Open File dialog closes.
  3. Complete the insertion process in the CAD application. The selected drawing is automatically copied to the folder where the current drawing resides and is inserted or attached accordingly.
