Exploring the ProjectForce interface

The ProjectForce user interface is very flexible and can be configured to suit each user’s needs. This chapter describes the major parts of the interface and explains which configuration adjustments you can make yourself to personalize your work environment.

The following figure indicates the major features of the ProjectForce user interface.

The following table lists the major features of the ProjectForce user interface and descriptions of each part, keyed to the numbers in the figure.

Menu bar

Displays the ProjectForce menus.

Toolbars

Displays the ProjectForce toolbars. Right-click any toolbar and enable or disable an individual toolbar from the menu.

Document list pane

Displays tabs containing lists of documents: residing in library folders, most recently used documents, and checked-out documents.

Properties pane

Displays property tabs and pages for the selected document.

Status bar

Displays the current , user name, active group, number of documents in the current folder, and the number of documents selected.

Page

Displays a list of properties for the selected document.

Tabs

Click a tab to display the corresponding properties for the selected document in the properties pane. Depending on the size of the window, some tabs might be out of view. To scroll the visible tabs, click the or buttons.

Navigation pane

Click a button to display the library contents, search for documents, or your favorite documents. For more information about the Navigation pane, see About the Navigation pane.

Navigation view

Displays the folder structure of the library. Documents contained in a selected folder for which you have at least View access level are listed in the document list. Double-click a folder to open it. Expand or collapse folders by clicking the plus and minus signs.

Library icon

You may have access to one or more libraries. Click on the library icon to open the library. The folder structure of the library will appear.

Global search

Searches multiple libraries.
