About minor revision numbers

Before a document can be edited, it is copied from the library to your local computer when you check the document out. When you check the document back in, it is copied back to the library and the next higher minor revision number is assigned to it automatically. When a document is released with the Release command, a new major revision number is assigned to the document automatically. By default, the minor revisions not visible in the list on the Versions tab.

A system administrator configures which revision numbering scheme is used.
