Preventing synchronization
By default and under usual circumstances, documents are always synchronized after you have enlisted shares for them. However, in certain situations, you might want to prevent a document from being synchronized either temporarily or permanently. An example of when you might want to permanently disable synchronization is when project documents are released to the master area of a vault and further replication must be prevented even if the document can be updated there.
Even when synchronization is disabled for a document, it can still be in collaboration with other shares and its status shown.
To prevent synchronization of a document:
- Select the document for which you want to prevent synchronization.
- Click the GCF Management tab. The GCF Management property page appears.
- Click the Edit button in the lower right corner of the window. The property page becomes editable.
- Select Disable synchronization. The document will be skipped by future GCF scheduled transfers until the option is disabled.
- Click OK to save your changes.
