Understanding level 2 recovery
If level 1 database recovery does not succeed, a system administrator can attempt to recover a Hypertrieve database by restoring a snapshot. In this case, data added after that the last snapshot was taken is lost.
To restore a snapshot manually:
- Stop and disable the EDM Server service.
- Open Windows Explorer and browse to the folder of the vault that you want to restore.
- Move the file <VaultName>.hdb to a safe location.
- Copy the file <VaultName>.snp to <VaultName>.hdb.
- Enable and restart the EDM Server service.
