Client application improvements

The following improvements have been made to the Meridian Enterprise client applications:

  • Commands for Managed Change and the Meridian Advanced Project Workflow Module have been moved to a sub-menu of the document shortcut menu.
  • In some cases it was not possible to edit dynamic collections.
  • Using a registry key, the Microsoft Access database format is supported for Local Workspace.
  • The generation of thumbnails for certain Microsoft Excel files would sometimes crash PowerUser. This has been resolved with the inclusion of AutoVue 20.1.1.
  • Thumbnails are now shown for folders in navigation views.
  • New icons that are more consistent, clear, and intuitive.
  • When using the Set Property Value command for a property that uses a lookup list, the existing values will be shown in a list for selection.
  • In some cases, printing using AutoVue would hang PowerUser.
  • In some cases it was possible to create a new folder even though the user did not have the necessary privilege.
  • When creating project copies, the current project copy sometimes did not display references in the Reference Explorer.
  • If the main toolbar in PowerUser was undocked and PowerUser was closed, the menu could not easily be recovered.
  • The Find command can now be used to find folders based on the folder name or properties, including custom properties. Folder searching is not supported by the Quick Find or Key Find features.

  • The Find dialog now supports routed properties.
  • An option has been added to clear the search history for Quick Find.
  • Clicking OK after editing property pages in PowerUser with the Properties page set to Auto Hide sometimes caused display artifacts to show in underlying open window panes.
  • Changes made to a navigation view filter can now be saved between sessions.
  • PowerUser, Office Client, and Web Access will now remember the last selected folder for certain operations such as importing documents, copying with references and creating project copies, This folder will be the default for the next operation.
  • It is now not possible to see reference types that are not assigned to the current scope. This also prevents deletion of reference types that are not assigned to the current scope.
  • When cutting and pasting documents from one folder to another folder in PowerUser, the navigation view is refreshed correctly.
  • PowerUser can be launched from the command line with the /scope parameter allowing you to open PowerUser immediately in the desired scope.
  • Meridian Enterprise now includes a stand-alone tool, BC Sequence Manager, for managing sequence numbers used in a Meridian vault.
  • Attachments of Lotus Notes emails can now be batch imported whereby different document types can be assigned to each attachment.
  • Column filters can now be saved for collections and search results in PowerUser and Office client.
  • A new Clipboard command, Paste Multiple, is available to create multiple copies of documents on the Clipboard.
  • Folders created based on folder type definitions are automatically assigned the corresponding folder icon. Even in the case where a Field-Path definition is being used, the icon defined for the folder type will be shown in the navigation views.
