Configuring user name mapping
To consolidate the email of several Meridian Enterprise users or aliases into a single name for easier identification, take advantage of the name mapping capability of BlueCielo Email Manager. This can also be useful if one user receives business email from several email addresses.
To configure user name mapping, perform the following steps:
- Open or create the configuration file UserNamesMappings.txt in your favorite text editor. By default, the file is located in the folder C:\Program Files\BC-Meridian\BlueCielo Email Manager.
- Add lines to the file to match your users’ names in the format:
<UserName>@<Domain>=<UserName> where the value on the left side of the statement is one of the email addresses to map and the value on the right side of the statement is the name to be assigned to the Meridian Enterprise From, To, and CC properties. Following is an example set of user name maps.
bill.jones@acme.com=Project Manager
bjones@extranet.acme.com=Project Manager
williamjones@professionalassoc.org=Project Manager
- Save your changes and close the file.
The next time the BlueCielo Email Manager runs, messages to any of the three mapped addresses will all be assigned the same value in the From, To, and CC properties.
