Client improvements

The following improvements have been made to the Meridian Enterprise client applications:

MRE-2512 In Meridian Power, the order and visibility of navigation view columns may now be configured per user as described in Working with Navigation views.
MRE-2524 In Application Integration in Remote mode, selecting multiple documents is now possible. Previously, only a single document could be selected.

In Meridian Power, it is now possible to compare master and project copies as described in Showing master and project copies.

MRE-3646 In Meridian Power, the Transfer to Project command is now available as described in Copying a project copy to another project folder.

In Meridian Power, the Lock Master Document command is now available as described in Locking a master document.

MRE-4403

In Meridian Power, the current workflow status, to-do person, and lock status are shown in a tooltip when the mouse pointer is hovered over a document in navigation views.

MRE-4803 In Meridian Power, when a user selects a document to which they do not have access and the vault option Hide documents from users with insufficient privileges is enabled as described in Viewing and editing vault properties, the access denied message is shown in the detail pane instead of in a dialog box.

The Meridian Power Quick Find command described in Using Quick Find now provides a drop-down list of Key Find properties for easier searching similar to PowerUser.

MRE-4863 In Meridian Power, the Select Folder dialog box is no longer shown when importing documents as described in Importing files using drag and drop. They are imported into the current folder, which must be selected before beginning the import.
MRE-4946 In Meridian Explorer, property search now supports multiple words and phrases combined by the AND operator as described in Searching in document properties.

In Meridian Power, right-clicking an item in a navigation view now also selects the item similar to the behavior of PowerUser. Previously, the selected item could only be changed by left-clicking. Selecting additional items for the same operation does not change the selected item.
MRE-4957 In Meridian Power, the current document may now be set similar to Windows Explorer. That is, by clicking any column in the row of the desired document within a navigation view. The row will highlight as you hover the mouse pointer over it so that you can select the correct document. It’s not longer necessary to click only the document name.

In Meridian Power, a new ribbon item Start Quick Change For has been added that can be used to start a quick change workflow for a specified user as described in Understanding document workflow types.

MRE-5030 In Meridian Power, if a document is not currently in a workflow, the text in the Workflow Diagram view described in Viewing the current workflow now reads This document is not currently in a workflow instead of No data to view.

In Meridian Power, ribbon groups are hidden if the commands that they contain have all been disabled for the current scope as described in Understanding scopes.

In Meridian Power, double-clicking a document type that has a custom workflow assigned to it will now show a dialog box that lists the available workflow transitions for selection before the document is downloaded to the PC as described in Downloading documents.

In Meridian Power, files may now be imported by dragging and dropping them on the Meridian Power window, similar to Windows Explorer and as described in Importing files using drag and drop. Depending on the current folder or document, the number of files dropped, and their file extensions, the user is prompted to select a valid action to import the files: Attach As Hybrid, Attach Rendition, Replace Content, Replace Content and Rendition, or Import Documents.

MRE-5258 In Meridian Power, the Add Document command has been renamed to New Document and the wizard no longer prompts for an existing file because existing files can more easily be imported using drag-and-drop as described in Importing files using drag and drop. This command is now for creating new documents from a template as described in Creating a new document from a template.

In Meridian Power, when linking a folder to a Meridian Portal project, users may now create a new project as described in Linking folders to Meridian Portal.

MRE-5338 In Application Integration configuration, a site cache server may be selected that has been specified as preferred by a system administrator for the current IP address of the PC as described in Configuring a site cache connection.

In Meridian Power, when the user links a folder to a Meridian Portal project as described in Linking folders to Meridian Portal, the project name is now shown on the property page of the folder with a hyperlink button that will open the project.

MRE-5394 In Meridian Power working in Remote mode as described in Understanding Offline mode and Remote mode, when the Meridian web server is configured with a different locale than the client, FLOAT, DOUBLE, and DATE property values are now displayed correctly.
MRE-5492 The built-in navigation view Under Revision By has been removed. It was retained only for backward compatibility with Work Isolation Mode, which has been deprecated. Users may still see similar data in the All To-Do Lists view.

In Meridian Power, the Find in This Folder command is available in the Search ribbon regardless of the currently selected item and the available scopes.

MRE-5493

In Meridian Power, a new user profile setting Datalist has been added that, if set to 1, enables an alternative drop-down control for lookup lists that provides type-ahead value matching as described in Deploying standard preferences.

MRE-5522 In Meridian Power, creating a project copy in a folder as described in Copying a master document to a project folder for which the user does not have access (List Content privilege) will cause errors but the copy will succeed the same as it does in Meridian PowerUser. Previously, the copy would fail.

MRE-5564

In Meridian Power, date formatting is now controlled by a new Locale setting in the user’s preferences as described in Setting personal preferences. It was previously determined by the default format of the selected Windows locale.

MRE-5636

The Copy With References dialog box described in Copying a document has a new option Go to copied assembly. If enabled, when the user closes the dialog box, they will be redirected to the copy that they just made.

In Meridian Power, an OK button has been added to the Columns to Show dialog box has been improved as described in Working with Navigation views.

In Meridian Power, the error handling has been improved when files are imported using drag-and-drop onto an existing document that is locked or read-only as described in Importing files using drag and drop.

MRE-5712 In Meridian Power, a new option Include Connected Assemblies has been added to the Copy With References command to make it functionally equivalent to the same command in PowerUser as described in Duplicating references. However, the Select Folder dialog box for choosing the destination of the copies has not been implemented in this release. This will be resolved in a future release. The copies will be made in the current folder unless custom scripting has been implemented to do so as described in DocCopyMoveEvent_SelectTarget event.

MRE-5765

In Meridian Power, better error messages are shown when a user attempts to import files to an invalid folder as described in Importing files using drag and drop. .

MRE-5769 In Meridian Power, drag-and-drop import now works with navigation views as well as the Folders view as described in Importing files using drag and drop. The Select Folder dialog is shown for the user to select the destination folder.

MRE-5793

In Meridian Power, the electronic signature dialog box now allows the user to delegate work on the document to another person as described in Signing documents.
