By default, the Meridian Web Client now performs document transfer and batch command processing of documents and folders with an HTML component that does not require installation on the user’s PC. This makes deployments easier than prior versions that required an ActiveX component be installed on the user’s PC. The new component is used by all commands that transfer files from the local PC or that process batches of documents, including electronic signatures. A new setting UseHTMLProgressComponent in the user’s Web Access profile file can be set to use the ActiveX component for backward compatibility, if necessary. Document downloads are now separate from the browser session and occur in the background. The user does not need to wait before continuing their work. The download status is shown in the system tray. The new component also supports a site cache (if one is configured) for faster document uploads and downloads. The component also checks for up-to-date dependencies and locks before allowing commands to proceed that would revise documents in the vault. Site cache activity is logged for troubleshooting. If a batch command requires it, processing pauses for user input, which can also be applied to the remainder of the items in the batch. While the command is busy working, a progress dialog lists the number of items already processed, the number of items that remain to be processed, and the number of items that failed processing for any reason. A scrolling text log shows the result of each action for troubleshooting. The user can pause, resume, or cancel processing at any time. A new registry setting NestingFolderDepth on the Meridian web server specifies the maximum number of nested folder levels to process before terminating to prevent infinite operations caused by unexpected errors. |
MRE-1264 | When the Create Project Copy command now shows the project selection dialog box, the available project folders are shown in a tree view instead of a list. |

The views can be selected from a new view bar at the bottom of the pane: Document (properties), View Document, View Rendition, Revisions, References, Master and Project Copies, Workflow, Role Assignments, or Tags. Each of the views (except Document) can be undocked to a new window where it will remain synchronized with the currently selected document in the navigation pane. The View documents in separate window option has been removed since it is no longer necessary. A new Meridian web server registry setting ViewPanel has been added that can be set to 0 to disable the view bar. The setting can also be configured for individual users by adding it to the users’ Web Access profile files as described in the BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise Configuration Guide. |
MRE-2355, MRE-2697 |
The Value list in the Find dialog box now shows a list of the existing values in the vault regardless of how the Select a value from option is set in the property configuration. This change affects both PowerUser and the Meridian Web Client. Previously, the list showed the values according to that setting, which could include values that did not exist in the vault to search for. The behavior of the value list on property pages is unchanged and reflects the configuration setting. This feature can be disabled by a new registry value CollectExisting described in Administration improvements. |
