Finishing up installation
The following steps describe the remainder of the installation process after the procedures in Installing the server components. Installing the client components. or Installing the developer components have been completed.

If you installing client components and selected the Web Client component, the Specify Web Access URL page appears. Type the URL of the Web Access server and of the Meridian Explorer website, if you are installing the Meridian Web Client.
Click Next to continue. The Specify Local Workspace Folder page appears. This folder is used to cache documents on a local hard disk for maximum performance. Local Workspace is always used by Web Access. It is an option for use with selected vaults by the PowerUser client.
- Accept the default or click Browse and select an existing folder. Click Next to continue.
- If you are installing the server components, the setup wizard prompts for:
- A program folder in the Windows Start menu for the program shortcuts. Usually the default folder is acceptable. Click Next to continue.
- The location of the vault databases. For information about the amount space required and location options, see Understanding document storage space requirements. Click Next to continue.
- Verification of the server’s current time settings. It is extremely important that the correct date, time, time zone, and regional settings are made on both the server and all client computers, and that all client computers are time-synchronized with the server. Click Next to continue.
- The location of the shared extensions folder. If any client extensions are registered in a vault, they will be copied to this location where they can be downloaded by the client PCs when the vault is opened. The setup program will create a hidden share for this folder. All users require read access to this location. Usually the default folder is acceptable. Click Next to continue.
- The last step in the setup wizard is to review all your choices. Click Next to continue. The installation begins and the progress is shown on the Setup Status page.
- When installation is completed, you will be prompted to click Finish.
- If any other server computers will be used with Meridian, configure a service account as described in Granting domain privileges with a service account.
- If you installed the server components, proceed to upgrade the vaults as described in Upgrading Meridian vaults.
