The Document menu contains commands for working with one document. It is only visible when a document is selected. In any navigation view, right-click a document name to display the Document shortcut menu.
The following table briefly describes each command on the Document menu. Refer to topics elsewhere in this guide for details.

Open |
Downloads the selected document and opens it in the registered Windows application. This command overrides the Prompt before download and Open it in application settings but complies with the other settings described in Document transfer options details. |
Download Document |
Downloads the latest revision of the document to your Local Workspace. For more information, see About local workspaces. |
Download Rendition |
Downloads the rendition of the latest revision of the document to your Local Workspace. For more information, see About local workspaces. |
Replace Content |
Uploads a new file to replace the content of the selected document. For more information, see Uploading documents. |
Show Document |
Opens the document content |
Compare |
Compares the selected documents in the viewer as described in Comparing documents. |
Show Revisions |
Shows a list of all the revisions of the document that reside in the vault. For more information, see Viewing prior revisions. |
Show References |
Shows all incoming and outgoing references. For more information, see Viewing references. |
Create References |
Create new references to or from the selected document. For more information, see Creating a reference. |
Update Thumbnail |
Updates the thumbnail image for the selected document. |
Unlock Rendition |
Unlocks the rendition for the selected document. For more information, see Unlocking renditions. |
Update Rendition |
Updates the rendition for the selected document. For more information, see Updating renditions. |
Modify Revision Number |
Allows you to manually modify the revision number of the document. For more information, see Changing the revision number of an existing document. |
Change Document Type |
Changes the document type of the document. For more information, see Changing a document’s type. |
Issue New File Name |
Issues a new document name based on the naming convention configured for the document type. For more information, see Issuing a new file name. |
Note The commands in this menu are context-sensitive, meaning their visibility depends on the current workflow state of the selected document and your security privileges.
