A document type is a category of documents inside a vault. Each document is of only one document type. You use the Meridian Enterprise Configurator utility to define the document types of a vault. Document types can be uniquely identified by their Name (not DisplayName) property in the Configurator. A document type should not be confused with a file type, which is the data structure of a document (for example, MS Word or MS Excel).
