About accessing object properties

This topic describes how to read and write property values for documents in a vault. Properties for other types of objects (folders, work areas, and so on) can be accessed in the same way.

The Meridian Enterprise database engine is optimized such that an object can have any number of properties. There is no space used in the database until a property receives a value. Therefore all properties defined in a vault are always available for any document (object).
