About properties and property sets

Part of the configuration of a vault is the definition of its properties. The definition of a property determines how values are stored in the database.

Properties are categorized in property sets based on the purpose of the properties.

Within each property set there can be any number of properties. A new vault will already contain multiple property sets. They contain the properties required for the built-in functionality of Meridian Enterprise. These properties should be treated as read-only.

An empty property set named Custom is created in each vault. The properties in this property set are defined in the Meridian Enterprise Configurator. It is possible to create other property sets using the Meridian Enterprise Configurator or with an interface extension and the Interface Extension designer.
