Understanding optional modules

The optional Meridian modules (Asset Management Module, Publisher, and so on) are implemented either as Meridian client extensions (plug-ins), stand-alone server executables, Internet Information Services applications, built into the EDM Server service, or a combination. For example, the Explorer module is made up of a stand-alone server executable and an IIS application, which can each be installed on a different server and accessed by Internet Explorer clients.

For more information on the architecture of particular Meridian modules, refer to each module’s documentation.
