Technical migration process

The migration process from an older Kronodoc version to a newer one and a file system to a database is usually done by the following steps:

1. Preparation
2. Creation of the new Kronodoc installation(s)
3. Upgrading the database’s VARCHAR-fields to behave correctly with multi-byte characters, using the provided script
4. Migrating the database to use the AL32UTF8 character set
5. Running the version migration script (migrates both the database and the file storage)
6. Configuration and verification
