Authentication

Kronodoc uses a combination of a user account name and a password for identifying users. When a user starts a Kronodoc session the system asks for a user name and password associated to that user name. If the user name and password match, the user is granted an access to the system (see chapter Authentication for more details). Kronodoc performs some simple statistical tests to determine password strength when a user changes his password. By default all network traffic, including passwords, is encrypted using SSL/TLS.

Strong authentication mechanisms such as certificate or one-time-password authentication solutions can be integrated if organizational security policy so requires. Automatic login through Windows network login can also be implemented.
