Using folder commands

The ribbon for the folder property page contains icons that perform actions on the selected folder. Visibility of the icons depends on your access rights to the folder.

To run a folder command:

  1. Open the folder's property page as described in Viewing and editing folder properties.
  2. In the ribbon, click the desired icon.

The following table lists all of the potential folder commands.

Folder commands
Command Description

Folder

List contents

Lists the documents that are contained in the selected folder.

Edit

Click to edit the folder properties.

Create subfolder

Creates a subfolder in the selected folder as described in Creating subfolders.

Delete

Deletes the folder and its contents (document and subfolders) as described in Deleting folders.

Change status

Click to change the status of the folder.

History

Lists the actions that have been performed on the active version of the folder except: import, export, and subscribe/unsubscribe.

 

Import/Export

Exporter

Exports the selected folder, subfolders, and documents based on user-defined settings. For more information, see the BlueCieloKronodoc Configuration Guide.

Importer

Imports a folder structure that has been created using the Exporter command. For more information, see the BlueCielo Kronodoc Configuration Guide.

Zip-import

Imports a ZIP archive of files and folders for automatic creation of a Kronodoc folder with contents. For more information, see the BlueCielo Kronodoc Configuration Guide.

Export subfolders

Exports a comma-separated values (CSV) file with folder and subfolder definitions that can be opened with Microsoft Excel. For more information, see the BlueCieloKronodoc Configuration Guide.

Import subfolders

Imports a comma-separated values (CSV) file that contains a folder structure definition. For more information, see the BlueCielo Kronodoc Configuration Guide.

Mass update

Imports property values for multiple documents using an Excel spreadsheet as described in About importing properties from Excel.

Clipboard

Show

Shows the clipboard contents.

Copy

Clears the clipboard and adds the selected folder to the clipboard.

Append

Adds the selected folder to the clipboard without clearing the clipboard contents.

Paste Link

Links the clipboard contents to the selected folder.

Paste Move

Pastes the clipboard contents into the selected folder and removes them from their original locations.

Paste Copy

Pastes copies of the clipboard contents into the selected folder.

Collaboration

Send

Sends a link to the folder to other Kronodoc users or groups by email.

Add comment

Adds a new comment to the folder.

View comments

Shows the comments that have been added to the folder. This command is only available if comments have been added to this folder.

Subscribe

Subscribes you to the folder to receive change notifications as described in Subscribing to folders.

Unsubscribe

Removes your subscription to a folder and stops change notifications as described in Subscribing to folders. This command is only available if you have subscribed to the folder.

Access

List profiles

Opens a new window that shows the active access control profile assigned to the folder and the rights for each group.

List roles

Opens a new window that shows the access roles assigned to the folder and the rights for each role.

Edit role access

Click to add or remove role access rights to the folder.
