Sending files to Kronodoc
The Office Connector creates a Send to Kronodoc menu in the Add-Ins ribbon of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel. The menu lists the Kronodoc sites that have been configured in the Office Connector by a system administrator. You can send the file that is currently open in the Office application to any of the listed sites. You can upload files to an existing document or to a new document in Kronodoc.
To send a file to an existing document:
- In the Office application, in the Add-Ins ribbon, click Send to Kronodoc and then click the name of the Kronodoc site to which you want to send the file. Internet Explorer starts and opens the Kronodoc site to the Drag and drop upload or Classic upload page, whichever is the default. The file that is currently open in the Office application is already added. You can rename the file or add more files to upload to the same Kronodoc document as described in Adding files to documents.
- Click Upload file(s). The Kronodoc Matches page appears and lists the files in Kronodoc with the same name. This is so that you can select the correct file if the same filename is used in multiple folders. Your recently accessed documents and folders are also listed as well as a list of workspaces.
- If you checked the file out of Kronodoc, click the Check-in link next to the name of the file that you checked out. If you did not check the file out of Kronodoc, in the Matches page, click the name of a recently accessed document or folder or click the name of a workspace to browse to pick a different document.
- If a file with the same name is already attached to the selected document, you are prompted whether to replace the existing file. Click Replace files or click Upload to a new version. The file is sent to the existing document.
- If you are creating a new version, the new version page appears. Continue as described in Creating a new version.
To send a file to a new document:
- In the Office application, in the Add-Ins ribbon, click Send to Kronodoc and then click the name of the Kronodoc site to which you want to send the document.
The Kronodoc Upload Wizard page appears.
- Click the name of a folder in Pick a recent folder as target or click the name of a workspace to browse to a different location in which to create a new document to receive the files. The selected folder opens in the Folders view.
- Click Create new. An empty document property page appears.
- Click options or type values using the descriptions in Viewing and editing document properties.
- Click Save. The document's complete property page appears. You may now use any of the commands on the document that are described in Using document commands.
