Assigning document property values

When users create documents from file templates, some of the document properties can be assigned automatically:

• Document Type
• Default Lifecycle
• Access profile

To assign document property values automatically:

Note    Where specified, property values must be set exactly as shown. Other values shown (Name) are suggestions only.

1. Create a custom property set to contain the assigned property definitions as described in Creating, editing, and deleting custom property sets.

1. Configure the property set as described in the following table.

2. In the new property set, create three custom property definitions as described in Creating, editing, and deleting custom property definitions.

1. Configure the property definition options as described in the following table.

3. Assign the custom property set to the document type File Template Document as described in Adding and removing custom document properties.
4. For each template document created as described in Configuring file templates, a list of values appears for each custom property created in step 2. For example, a list of the existing access profiles appears for the ACPROF property. Select a value to assign to new documents created from that template. To not assign a value for a property for a specific template document, select None forced (default).
5. Click Save. The templates are now configured for automatic property assignments.
