Opening a drawing from the vault

Use the Open command to open an existing drawing from an ImandrA vault. The drawing will be checked out to you. When you are finished making changes, you can check the drawing back into the vault as a new revision. This command will also allow you to open a copy of the drawing (without checking it out) in order to edit it to become a different drawing.

To open a drawing from within AutoCAD integrated with ImandrA:

  1. In one of the following:

Click Open. The Open File dialog appears, similar to the following figure.

  1. Navigate to the drawing you want to open and select it.
  2. If you only want to open a copy of the drawing and not check it out, enable Open as copy.
  3. Click Open. If the drawing was not already checked out to you, it will be checked out before it is opened in AutoCAD. If the selected drawing has X-Refs, those drawings are also copied to the Checkout folder so that they can be shown correctly in the open drawing but they are not checked out. You must explicitly check them out to edit them.
