Assigning access levels to documents

You can assign access levels to documents or folders for which you have the Owner access level.

To assign access levels:

  1. Select one or more documents or a folder for which you want to assign the same access levels.
  2. Right-click and click Properties on the shortcut menu. The Properties dialog appears.
  3. Click the Security tab to display the current access level assignments similar to the following figure.

  1. Enable the Users option to assign an access level to an individual user or enable the Groups option to assign an access level to a group.
  2. Choose a name from the Name list.
  3. Choose an access level from the Access Level list.
  4. Click the Add button to assign the selected access level to the selected user or group.
  5. Repeat steps 4 through 7 to add more users or groups.
  6. Select an access level assignment and click the Delete button to remove the assignment.
  7. Click OK when finished. The access levels are assigned.
