A transmittal’s recipient is the person to whom the documents included in the transmittal will be sent. There may only be one recipient per transmittal. The recipient is expected to perform some work upon receipt of the documents, for example, produce new revisions, provide requested information, and so on.
Besides a recipient, a transmittal may also be associated with additional contacts. The additional contacts are not expected to act upon the transmittal but are persons that you want to be informed about the delivery of the transmittal to the recipient. They can be informed by an email message and transmittal report that is generated by Transmittal Manager.
Each additional contact must be assigned a reason that informs the contact as to why they were notified about the transmittal. The reason can be included in the transmittal report as additional information to the recipient and other contacts. However, the same reason that is assigned to a transmittal’s recipients may not be assigned to additional contacts unless the reason is not related to a workflow.
You can add, edit, and delete additional contacts for one or more transmittals. Specifying additional contacts and how they are informed is described in the following topics.
