Configuring default document classes

A default document class is the document class that is assigned by default to documents of a specific file type. The document class is assigned to files that are imported into a repository and the properties of the document class are applied to the files immediately.

Note    Configuring the default document class is supported only for FileNet Panagon and is not supported by FileNet Content Services libraries.

To configure the default document classes:

  1. In ImandrA Designer, select Extension Assignment on the ImandrA menu. The Select Library dialog appears.
  2. Select the system type from DMS System, select the library that you want to configure from Library, and then click OK. The FileNet Logon dialog appears.
  3. Enter your user name in User name, your password in Password, and then click OK. The Extension Assignments dialog appears.
  4. Select the default document class for new repository documents from Default Document Class.
  5. Select the default document class for imported documents from Default Document Class for External Documents.
  6. Click OK to save your changes.
