About the Export Format Designer

You use the Export Format Designer to define how documents that reside in an ImandrA library are named when they are exported by users. This can be useful if you store documents in the library using one naming standard but exchange documents with business partners that use different naming standards. You can create any number of export format definitions, one for each naming standard. A list of export format definitions is shown to the user for selection when they export documents. They can select one of the export format definitions that will be applied to all of the selected files as they are exported.

For example, an export format definition could be a combination of text and properties such as the following:

<idmName>_<idmID>_R<idmVerCustom5>

Given the property values in the following table, the exported filename would be:

RGLO MIT4_051370001_R0.9.<FileExtension>

To open the Export Format Designer:

1. Open ImandrA Designer.
2. On the General menu, select Export Format Designer. The Export Format Designer opens.

The Export Format Designer interface consists of:

• A toolbar
• An export format definitions list in the left pane
• A property list in the right pane for configuring each export format definition.
