Understanding the architecture

The architecture of GCF/SharePoint is based on the standard Global Collaboration Framework architecture and allows considerable deployment and security flexibility.

In the simplest configuration, a single Meridian Enterprise site is linked to a single SharePoint site and the processor programs for both sites can be installed on the same computer. This computer is called the GCF computer in this manual.

A typical deployment will employ four servers, each with GCF/SharePoint components installed similar to the following figure.

This document describes how to configure GCF/SharePoint with one Meridian Enterprise vault and one SharePoint site collection. For information on configuring GCF/SharePoint for multiple vaults or site collections, contact BlueCielo Technical Support for assistance.

The relationships and communications between the various components that are installed on the computers are described in the following topics.
